Solo and Ensemble/All County Band Auditions

If you are playing a solo in Solo and Ensemble Festival (Also known as All County Band Audtions):  We are rehearsing with our accompanist on Wednesday January 27th.  Each student will have 15 minutes and will need to arrive 5 minutes early to warm-up in a practice room.  The schedule will be posted outside the band room on Tuesday.

Please remember to have your instrument on Wednesday as we get very limited time with the accompanist before February 13th auditions.

2009-2010

Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year!  It has taken me a while to get everything going on the blog but I am back on and will be updating regularly!  Check out the About the Band Page- it has been updated.

Students remember to turn in your practice charts!!  Symphonic band charts are due Tuesdays and Concert Band Charts are due Mondays.  6th graders need to begin turning in charts the Monday after Northbay.  Also, if your child loses their chart, you may print off a new chart from the “Practice Log” page.

Pictures

Pictures from the Blue Rocks game, taken by a professional, are posted on this website.  www.momentshare.com/bluerocks

They did take some of the band!

By the way, great job on Saturday.  The game was a blast!

Blue Rocks Game

As you know, the Blue Rocks game is this Saturday.  Several students who signed up will be performing the national anthem.

Arrival Time:  5PM- 1 hour before performance time.  Please do not be late!  Upon arrival we will be given a place to unload our instrument cases and warm-up.

Due to MSA and a hectic schedule, we have been unable to rehearse as a full band.  However, if students have been practicing the National Anthem at home… we should have NO PROBLEMS putting this together.  If you have not been practicing, get on it now, EVERY DAY.  Hundreds of people will be there watching us!  We will be rehearsing in home room Thursday and Friday this week and possibly at the end of the day Friday if I think we need it.  Please remember your instruments and please practice! (Percussionists, you do not count, seeing as your part just consists of a long roll, and a few boom crashes!  We’ll fit you in on Thursday.)

I hope you’ve all had an enjoyable break!  I am looking forward to some exciting things for the rest of the year!
